Bellagio Cafe
Bellagio has firmly established itself as the ‘go to’ café for parents in the East and now I can see why. In 2012 it was named the ‘best kid-friendly café’ in Sydney by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. From its trendy mural on the outside of the building, great food, strong Campos coffee and kid friendly courtyard, you can’t go past it.The brunch menu is simple and done very well. The free babycinos are very well received by the little ones.
Parents, couples and business people inhabit the café harmoniously. On a sunny day you can understand why the courtyard is so perfect for parents. The manager mentioned that toys are donated by local families and are constantly being rotated to keep the littlest regulars interested. They are soon to build a new cubbyhouse – I can’t wait for summer! If you are inside, there are some pencils in the corner filing cabinet but no paper so you may need to ask.
The change facilities are fantastic and located just off the courtyard. You will find boxes of disposable change mats and nappy bags. Take advantage of the side entrance to the courtyard off Bronte Rd with prams and toddlers. The parking is a challenge in this area but Bellagio is definitely worth the effort.
